So, you’re probably thinking “Woah we finally have a blog post” right? Well, probably not because I would be surprised if someone actually reads this! But here is a little life update from me! Just what I have been up to and why it’s affected my blogging.

Baby Sunflower

Charles is now nearly FOUR months old so it has been a good while since I have sat down to blog. I’ve taken this time to spend with him, see him develop and of course, blogging went onto the back burner. Having a baby is a lot of work (of course) plus I haven’t really had the motivation to sit down and write something interesting because of it alongside some other things. I’m actually writing this now at 10 pm and keep looking at Charles like “Please do not wake up right now” but in a loving way of course…

Read my labour story here.

He’s, of course, a little angel most of the time. We have to take into account that now he’s trying to get used to his body, suffering from colic and yes he’s teething already. But other than that, he’s mostly quiet and learning along the way. I’ve enjoyed being there fully for the little moments like his first smile and laugh, the first time he held a toy or pressed a button on one and I think it may be a while before my blogging becomes more consistent and active again.

Health

After getting a tiny human taken out of me…I seemed to have thought that my health may get a bit better. I was in fact wrong. To add to the situation of post-labour recovery I have been told I have gallstones which are amazing. On the side of this, I have an enlarged spleen and will need surgery by the latest January 2020 (I was put on the “Emergency – Non-Cancer List”). I’m grateful I won’t be waiting so long but at the same time, I hope I’m not waiting till after Christmas because a gallstone flare is not nice.

This has also definitely hindered my blogging life as when I’m not looking after Charles, I’m usually trying to rest up/trying to hold my organs together! My doctors attributed it to losing a lot of weight in pregnancy and then once I gave birth, my baby fat fell off me very quickly too. This may be a positive note in a way as I did want to lose weight majority of my adult life. But I’ve noticed that my appetite is back but the weight isn’t which is a little concerning for my spleen as my spleen is not happy right now!

At the same time, I finally went on medication for my anxiety! I decided to speak to my doctor and ask for meds because my life was becoming more anxiety-filled, especially as a first time Mother. One of my biggest things is control and a baby is unpredictable so my mind has been everywhere. Thankfully she was happy to help and asked me to get in touch with my past therapists to see if there’s anything they can help with too. I also went back on birth control for the first time in 4 years which was interesting. Let me just tell you girls who have heard “Pregnancy may help your periods”. It doesn’t.

Dreams and Goals

Also having a baby has given me the motivation to do some stuff within the year I have before I go to University. That’s if I still choose to go. Here are some of my goals for 2020.

  1. Make our house more homey/perfect.
  2. Start my own business (Check more out here.)
  3. Develop my blog/monetise.
  4. Give Charles the best 1st year of his life
  5. Get a pet.
  6. Change my diet (If I won’t have a gallbladder I need to change my diet a little bit!).
  7. Play more Sims/Games
  8. Learn more about SEO.
  9. Spend more time with Daniel/my niece and nephews.
  10. Prepare for University.

I guess that’s all I have to say for this blog post today! I just wanted to do a little update before I likely disappear again and I hope you’re all having a great day!
